FMX 210-11 Canvas Project: Anya Kaplan

  For my FMX 210, fall 2021 canvas project, I created a setting from the show  Spongebob , using Dreamweaver program with html code. In the image above, you see  my final creation, containing various shapes. The variety of circles, rectangles, squares, arrows, arcs, Bezier curves, and swoosh quadratic curves are set on a gradient background. Below, you can see the sketch and the original image that inspired me to create mine. I decided to code a sponge bob show setting, as I have always loved watching sponge bob when I was younger. The image also seemed very fun to replicate, as it was full of many bright colors and shapes that I felt could be interesting to transform into code. This was my first time using Dreamweaver, and manipulating code in general. The beginning of the process was quite challenging as it was basically a trial and error process. World Wide Web versus the Internet     The internet is a boundless network of connects all computers globally, created so that people from all over the world can communicate with each other via internet connection. There is no one person who can be ultimately credited to creating the internet, however in 1961,  a number of scientists and engineers collectively shared research to create the ARPANET. The ARPANET is one of the earliest computer networks, created by   Leonard Kleinroc (Computer Hope).   Hi everyone! My name is Anya Kaplan, and I major is undecided, but planning to major in Psychology. I just moved here after living in Warsaw, Poland for the past 2 years. I was born in Poland, as my mom and Polish, and dad is American. Growing up, I lived in Switzerland, Sweden, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I love volleyball, and have been playing on both club and school teams for several years now. Last year, my volleyball team and I traveled to Prague, Czech Republic and Budapest Hungary to compete in several different volleyball games against other international schools! I also enjoy traveling, listening to music, going to the beach, and art.  With no background in any aspects of digital media, I am both excited and anxious to dive into this class. Being new to digital media, I am excited to explore and learn about all the fascinating ways technology has been used, and how it's still evolving and advancing.
